16 Dec 2006, The Wardrobe music venue - Capri step out for one last time onto the hallowed downstairs stage. This would be the official 'last night' for the basement club and although it would not be the last gig for Capri or for the club, it was the end of a very great era in the clubs history. Capri give all they've got for this finale performance and the atmosphere captured on this ten track album is electric. The usual Capri line up of Benson Walker ( vocals / guitar ), Daniel Woodward ( drums ), Chris Donnelly ( bass guitar ), Jack Foster ( percussion ), Simon Pugsley ( trombone ), Steve Parry ( trumpet ) and Joe Tatton ( keyboards ) are present, with Rob Durbin ( lead guitar ) taking the place of rhythm king Matthew Windler. Baritone Sax duties are taken on by Tony Birkhill in place of Jim Corry and the Jacuzzi 500 team that is Rob Mitchell ( alto sax ) and Simon Beddoe ( trumpet ), replace regulars Joel Purnell and Simon Nixon. This was a typical Leeds Funk scene evening with members of The New Mastersounds and The Haggis Horns present, as well as Funk divas Lara Rose, Corinne Bailey Rae and Sulene Fleming. A great night was had by all and was fortunately captured ( although almost not, as the desk recorder refused to work until two minutes before the performance ) on this fifth digital release from one of the worlds finest Funk bands.
