This is a curated, long-lost tracks that Chet produced in the 60's and 70's. These were some of the songs that helped him get his record deals. Many of them have never been released. They were painstakingly restored, removing "plosives" and other fractional imperfections. At the same time, they were mixed and mastered without any processing plug-ins and are pretty much mixed in the center. We wanted to keep as much of the intimacy as possible. One other driving factor is that music supervisors and libraries really WANT an "authentic sound and timber" to older tracks. All that said, we also wanted the focus to be a the songs, guitar work, vocals and the lyrics. Great songs will always be great songs, so we really wanted to focus on the songs as being part of the journey Chet took in his early years circulating in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oklahoma, Chicago and Tonganoxie, Kansas. We hope you enjoy these songs and the stories they contain. "Time For Leaving", is the oldest recording from the summer of 1967, where Chet recorded it on a Sony Suitcase Cassette machine with a Sony Stereo mic in his bedroom. It goes out to all the great singer-songwriters of the day who inspired him.
