A TRIBUTE TO OUR TROOPS & VETERANS INSPIRED BY THE REAL-LIFE WAR JOURNALS OF TWO AMERICAN SOLDIERS: J.D.'s latest release "Hometown Heroes" is a country-rock musical journal of her experiences from her touring and commitment to supporting our troops. There is something special and unique about this project... These songs were inspired by the real life wartime journals of two American soldiers. Fallen soldier U.S. Army Spc. Michael Lane Stansbery, Jr. and U.S. Marine Corps Combat Veteran Tom Whelan. The songs take the listener from the homefront to the frontline to coming home. The title track, "Hometown Hero" was written to honor the memory of 21 year old, U.S. Army Spc. Michael Lane Stansbery, Jr. He was killed while serving his country in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He died of injuries from an improvised explosive device. Michael was the nephew of the founder of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach. J.D. in an honorary board member of this non-profit organization which sends care packages to our troops overseas. This CD is a tribute to Michael's memory and a thank you to all of our troops!
