Inspired by The Doors' "An American Prayer", a seminal fusion of poetry and daemonic tunage, this trip down the nightmare path of betrayal, abandonment and questionable redemption invokes the European tradition of existentialist balladeers and Elvis-country negro spirituals. The Reverend Jim Jones (in his own voice) takes numerous turns as the quintessential dead-end preacher, prodding the listener along a path of self-discovery which, ultimately, rejects external chimera for the wellspring within. Betrayal is our catalyst, the bitter taste of fallen idols providing fuel for the journey.
