Bio
Orquesta Dharma was formed in late 2007 by trombonist/composer/arranger Jamie Dubberly, as a recording project. After recording 3 songs ( which can be heard in the release- Jamie Dubberly and Orquesta Dharma, digitally available on itunes, napster and rhapsody), Dubberly was inspired by the efforts of the musicians involved in the recording, and decided to form a working band, and plan a full length recording project. The band is now finishing that recording and planning a summer 2010 release of the original 3 songs plus several more. Dharma is made up of some of the brightest talent from the thriving Bay Area latin jazz/salsa scene, including Brian Andres, Sam Bevan, Carlos Caro, Pete Cornell, Ramon Garcia, Omar Ledezma, Andy Nevala, Fred Randolph, Darren Smith, Christian Tumalan, and graciously appearing on the forthcoming release is legendary bay area percussionist Karl Perazzo. Dharma presents some seriously swinging, straightforward afro-cuban original compositions and arrangements from Dubberly and other members of the ensemble and is soon to be a force on the west coast latin jazz scene!
