Story Behind The Song
Buddy Knox (of "Party Doll" first million selling rock and roll song fame), and Bob Beasley, (Rockabilly Hall of Famer), were at my house and asked me to write a song where a guy poured out his heart to a girl who wouldn't love him. Obviously, this was years ago. I never finished it completely and still haven't added any guitar. This is because both of my friends died after Buddy told me he really loved the song. It's simple and in a sixties ballad style of Buddy's era.
Song Description
A woman who repeatedly has been mistreated and yet keeps getting back in the same type of bad relationships is loved from a distance by a man she never seems to notice. He is aching for her to learn her lesson, just look at him and see the love he has, change her ways and be happy with him.

Lyrics
Look at me now
I'm still here waitin'
And I'm wonderin' how
How you can't see the love
That's there all around
Oh when I look at you
I've been here before
But you don't see me
When he walked out your door
I was here waiting
But you walked right by me
Why won't you just look at me now?
Look at me now
I'm not the man I used to be
I'd stop the world if I knew how
If you would just look at me now
You keep going back
To men who've hurt you
Like you've done in the past
They only use you
And then throw you away
Why won't you just look at me now?
'Cause I'll be there
When all your world comes crashing down.
You're questions answers will be found
If you will just look at me now.
Will you come around?
I can give it a little more time
Time is all I've got
I'll be here when your eyes aren't so blind
Look at me now
The storm is ending
There's no clouds any more
The wounds are mending
Only bright days ahead
If you will just look at me now.
