Story Behind The Song
Lost in a great depression after my divorce until finding my current wife.
Song Description
A slice of my life. A man is so hearbroken and depressed to the point of contemplating taking his own life. He has lost everything, his wife, family, job, business, and even most of his friends. He looks around him and see nothing to live for and feels as if he's sick and dying inside and seems to see the only way out is to end it all and take his life. The "sickness" in his body and soul is beyond healing in his mind and even though some people try to help he rejects them. One woman comes along and through he love refuses to accept his rejection and with the "tough love" heals him anyway.

Lyrics
Lost the battle still in the war
Bleeding heart can't take much more
Welcome darkness eternal sleep
There is no healin'
Stripped of love alone I bleed
Smothered soul what do I need?
Fatal passion I stare at death
Why live? What reason?
Healer
Bind my wounds see me safely to the dawn
You're my healer
Just a touch and I'm starting to feel strong
You're my healer
Gave me life when I thought that I was through
You're my healer
I'm alive and it's all because of you
You're my healer
No reason to look my way
Others left. Why did you stay?
I refused. You wouldn't take no
You were my healer
I was prepared. I really tried to do my best
Sometimes in this world your best can't pass the test
I'd passed the point where my will could carry me through the pain
I yearned for peace I hoped to find beyond life's plane
You were my healer
A spark your eyes met mine
Love's flame began to rise
I felt desire to live
You were my healer
Feel love like never before
Runnin' strong no scars any more
I can't repay the debt
You were my healer
