Verse 1:
You've gone away
And left me with ashes
My sunny day
Became tears on wet lashes
I thought you'd be there
Then you're gone all've a sudden
You've left me here
And now I'm Longing For London
VERSE 2:
The late summer breeze
Won't blow away my pain
The wind in the trees
Leaves me yearning for more rain
I hear children play
And I come so undone
Remnants of yesterday
And I'm left Longing For London
BRIDGE:
I wanna run down Kensington
Careen down the motorway
Play in Islington
And get to Essex for a stay
I wanna drink warm beer
Hang out in Camden
My mouth is watering
And Longing, Longing for London
VERSE 3:
I recall your laugh
The excitement in your voice
The way your eyes flashed
The way you had no choice
Your passion was a blast
Your life was a dungeon
And while I mourn
I'm still Longing For London
Longing For London
Longing For London
Longing For London
Longing
