Thank you for the stars on our song Marilyn! Much appreciated :) Wes
Many thanks for your very kind review of my song 'If You Fall'. Ian
Carrie Martin complements your voice in a really fine way...Into Grey really nice
Thankyou. Carrie is amazing.
Thanks for your review of mansion with many rooms. have a great day!
Hi, and thanks for your review of my song 'Madman'. You asked for more info... I think the problem here is the way we think of the word 'madman'... in this instance, it refers to the person rejected by his lover who referred to him in various psychological ways, inferring that some kind of early therapeutic intervention might have made him an easier person to live with... I extrapolated the word 'madman' from that... like... 'yeh... I'm not so easy but I still love you... maybe in time you won't think I'm so crazy...'. It's not meant to sound so threatening, but I can see that it does... :-)
Kind of you to get back to me. Your welcome it was a really interesting song I am glad you helped me out here. Keep singing I am a friend in music always
Hallo Ian, Thank you for being a good sport about Amberforth. You are right, it is not in the right category as folk contemporary as is the Crow, which you liked. Ambertorth is more of a children's song. Your review is very kind.
Hi Billy, Many thanks for your generous review of my song The Bridge, appreciated. Just been listening to your work - very impresses... that first track 'About Time' superb - would have bought it if it was up for sale! Ian
Hi Ian, Thank you for the kind words on About Time. I've listened to more of your work and it truly is outstanding. So very refreshing to hear music in the simplest form yield so much power and emotion. I don't write lyrics or any songs with words and am amazed at those that do it well. My friend, you do it well. Real well! Take good care Ian, Billy
Thanks for your review of my song 'Nothing Anybody Can Do'. Noted your points on the recording hiss... it's a problem for me as I have a very limited set of recording equipment and I'm not particularly expert in its use. Sometimes a track has a hiss, sometimes it doesn't... it's a bit of a mystery... Interested that you wrote 'draws the listener in' but also 'Song did not draw me in', and 'Quality recording from beginning to end, no major issues' but also 'Not such a clean recording'! I'm also not quite sure what you mean by 'maybe with a more convincing vocal track... it would grab me better' when you gave it 4/5 for Quality of Vocal Pitch... but hey... the review formula can throw up these apparent contradictions... Thanks for listening.
Hallo Ian, Thank you for your very kind and encouraging review of The Crow. I am very happy that you like it. It is another song with lyrics by me and music and voice by Dave Lefever. All the best from Birthe
Thank you for your guarded, not completely negative review of Night Noises. I wrote it as a poem, not as a song. Dave Lefever set it to music. Think Gothic novels, Bronté sisters etc. You might like other songs of mine better. Best from Birthe
Hi Ian, Thanks for your review of "Pretty Girl On A Train." Will try to do better next time. Cheers Laurence
Hi Rhiannon, thanks for downloading a collection of my songs - I'm flattered! I hope you enjoy them! Ian
Natalie, sweet music, sweet vocals - thanks for connecting to me... Ian
Thanks, Ian.
Ian, lad. Lovely work on Oceans. Your acoustic style is real and calls to me with a kindred soul from an ocean far away. Sending you a Friend request from the City of Love to help Folk live. - Nick
Thanks Nick - appreciated! Ian
Hi Anita - 'Your Irresistible Smile' is a great song and I love your performance! Well done, will listen to more of yours now x
Thank you. Most of my compositions are works for film/theatre, but I am working on a new pop/rock/alt songs and in a few weeks I'll upload them here... I look forward to hear what you think about them, too. :)
Great - keep going!! x
Oh my... you are talented! I hope you're making a lot of money from your work! The orchestral pieces are very, very good... I would like a 5th of your composition ability. Listening to 'Clean Break' now... you have a great voice (an the ending just happened - that's cool!). If you get a chance to listen to any of mine try 'Into Grey' and High Wire' - probably the most worked-on songs in the collection... x
I'm excited to hear that one too... Loved your "Clean Break" song.
Hi Chris... thanks for your request about Into Grey - in principle I have no problems with you using the song - I'd like a little more information about the film and what you have in mind in case (or when!) it turns into a rampant financial success! Email me to discuss further but accept this as a green light anyway - ian.cox@gomango.co.uk
Hey Ian, Yes, this is based on a book I wrote, Wombs, you can check it out on Amazon, it will be on Kindle in a couple of weeks. It is science fiction using minimalist technologies, the story is about our last hope of sending ships into space which actually birth the astronauts out there, and then they are to land and start a whole society. I am thinking to have your song in the center, when things are going rough for Jason Argenon, the main character, but there is a thin thread of hope. You will have the song credit in the film and I will keep you up dated with its progress. If the film becomes huge the plays are paid to you for film, TV, RADIO etc. directly through ascap. Right now we are in editing and going to submit it to sundance and other festivals where our hopes are distribution and perhaps some attention. I appreciate your consideration, I think your song will help the project one step further into being art. If you would like to take part, I will check out more songs to see if there is another place. Its a feature film, so there is lots of room for great stuff as we edit it together. I appreciate your music and think this will turn out really good with eveyone coming together like this. I look forward to placing your song in its spot, I found you last night and we all thing your voice and music will make help make this great! Thanks, Cliff
Hi Cliff, sounds great to me - and I'll check out the book as well! Please go ahead. If there's anything else you would like to use help yourself. If you missing any music/songs that are needed to work with the film then let me know - it might be interesting to try writing something specific for you. All the best, Ian
Cool, that would be great, I'll get into it with that in mind as well. Take care, Cliff
Hi Cliff Just wanted to let you know that we're re-mixing 'Into Grey' - the re-mix will remove some hiss and add a bass track. If you would like to send me your email address I'll send you the remixed track when it's all done. You can email me at ian.cox@gomango.co.uk All the best Ian
Hi Beverly, just found your review of our song 'High Wire' - for some reason I didn't get a notification. Much appreciated, setting off to listen to your songs now! Ian Cox (and Carrie Martin)
Ian, thank you very much for your generous review (and purchase) of "Say You're Mine". I just read it today, I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that you understood the message. Have a great weekend.
Thank you for the very kind review of my song 'Scarf & Hat' (aka "you're my dream..."). I appreciate your appreciation of my hard work. Cheers!
Sorry, Phil Hooley is the guy. Malcolm
Thanks for an honest review by someone who knows something. I don't agree with everything you said, but then... I listened to several of your songs, my favorite so far is "The Mighty Fall" BTW do you know Phil Hartley? He is another UK writer on here, reviewed a song of mine and I checked him out - nice tunes Thanks, Malcolm
Thanks for the messages Malcolm, I'll check out Phil's work tomorrow. Mighty Fall does seem to appeal a lot to people! It was one of those songs that just rolled off the page! All the best with yours (which I'll also be listening to some more!) Ian
Thank you for your review Ian, Claude C.L.music
