My name is Maurice Peter D Smith.
I was born and raised in Jamaica with my 4 older Brothers and 1 younger Sister.
All of us, including my Dad are musicians although I am the only one who actively pursues music as a career

I have played music all my life, first at home with family, then in church with the family band and now the world.

I have been performing extensively in Asia and the Middle East for a number of years.
I am currently in Asia.

I just finished my CD "Finally" which I want to share with my fellow Musicians and listeners around the world

I will update regularly via my news room where I will be each time I change location.

I'm currently in Macau with Dropzone Band. Performing at MGM Grand Macau.
We will be here until 31st of August 2008.
We will be going to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after Macau. We will start on September 3 in Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Maurice Peter D Smith

Born on the island of Jamaica, Maurice grew up with a variety of musical influences that helped to shape his own unique style as a singer and guitarist.

Starting from age 16, he has backed many popular Jamaican singers such as Culture, Ken Boothe, Mighty Diamonds & dancehall ‘s BeenieMan. While in Jamaica, Maurice Peter D was discovered by Stevie Wonder and soon worked as a session guitarist in studios across North America including Stevie Wonder's Los Angeles based Wonderland where he further developed his song writing talent.

Maurice Peter D. continued to draw the attention of musicians and producers and has toured extensively worldwide with funk, pop, reggae, and african dance & show bands, performing throughout Asia, Middle east, Europe and North America.

Among his list of credits are South African singer/recording artist Lorraine Klaasen, and North American singer/songwriter/recording artist, Freddie James. He also teamed up with the Canadian based production team M.Gi.M and released several singles on the Solid records label.

Maurice is currently on an Asian tour with popular international show band “Dropzone”. He has just completed the writing and recording of his CD titled “Peter D & Friends” and is now preparing for its release. You will definitely want to check out his style.
