Story Behind The Song

Often times in work situations you are forced to conform and sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it does not. The conformity at your job is a larger reflection of how the United States of America now operates. You are told what to do, how to think, and the majority are like sheep: complacent and do their part to keep the on-going sheeple moving in the direction of nowhere.

Song Description

We are now a large corporation in America and for the most part we are told this is okay. We are distracted by our tv, gadgets, and social media. Some have an idea about what's taking place in America, whereas a larger majority knows and doesn't care, or enjoys the complacency of it all. Why change when you are being fed crap and for the most part well taken care of, never mind the state of the country. Never mind what's really going on.

Lyrics

Corporations are running everything, taking away your dreams
And you sit at home and watch TV like it's the American Dream
And your futures are sold to Uncle Sam, who sells you out, cause it's business man
And they're sitting on a wad of cash so tall that they'll never ever even hear your call

It's the American Dream
Corporation greed, greed, greed, greed

Then she has the nerve to come up and say
Hey man your pants ain't black enough
Then he has the nerve to come up and say
Hey man your pants ain't black enough

CHORUS:
My black jeans ain't black dress pants
My black jeans ain't black enough
My white shirt can't hide the blood stains
My white shirt screams I've had enough
I won't wear your chains, chains, chains, chains
I am not your slave, slave

It's a joke that we have to wear uniforms while they take away our dreams
And the big box stores teach the people now how to smile while suffering
Everybody's posting to a social stream while they sell your information cause it's power man
And you're looking for your ship to just set sail but the system was only designed to fail

It's the American Dream
Corporation greed, greed, greed, greed

(CHORUS)

We're all like good dogs
We're all like good dogs
We come when they call
We come when they call
