Lyrics
at the station
this story has begun
when two as-then strangers were both put down
a cruelty of time
reactions were the same
denial and sadness led into hope
distorting both their minds
on and on it went
driven by feelings of not-lost-love
they clang to might-still-be's
and though both realised
they were blurring their visions they fooled themselves
focussing on their dreams
well you and me are the ones to see
that our journeys kid us repeatedly
let's abandon the death-trains we ride
and it's you and me out at the station
so anyway, they met
talk led into friendship
things clearly grew, but they just closed their eyes
the listener gets annoyed
stupidity rules here, why won't they learn
and get on with their lives
still looking for that train
both travelling heavy should recognise
their goals seem so alike
the obvious occurs
might they travel together? baggage could be shared
and travelling would be light
here does this story end
though 'ending's deceptive, things still go on
I?ll keep you posted
I hope
