Story Behind The Song
In 2015 I went to a family Christmas gathering and was the only single person in my age group that didn't have a family, spouse, or girlfriend.
At this time I was also heavily addicted to adderall and alcohol and the sadness consumed my entire being.
I heard the melody of the chorus on repeat in my head at this gathering and couldn't get it to leave.
When I got home I had a hard time finding the correct chords to match the melody but eventually landed on what you hear now.
Song Description
This song is about addiction and loneliness. It's about being alone during the holidays and longing for the love and companionship that your relatives seem to have. It also represents an initial awareness that the addiction isn't contributing anything positive to your life.

Lyrics
Take the pills and put 'em on the shelf
Cause they do not work anymore
I took 'em cause I thought that they would help
But I'm much worse off than before
And it's the time of year to have some cheer
But it's only me that's here
It's another Lonely Holiday
I'm too old to feel this way
Yes it's only me that's here today
It's another Lonely Holiday
