First Year

Story Behind The Song

It is about Co-writer James' McPartlins fiance and how they were together for a brief time, broke up, and how he realized he wanted her back. He asked if she would take hime back, she responded by saying "You'll have to show me the moon the stars and the sun", hence the chorus of the song was created. He did show her all those things and won her heart back. Eventually he used this song to propose.

Lyrics

First Year

First year first semester, we both met in choir
The next thirty days of our life we knew we had sparked a fire
But I had to go off on my own not realizing you?re my home
And I said goodbye

Now were here two years later I?m thankful were still friends
But I?d like to know if you?d consider giving me your heart again
And you said ?if you?ll go this far, show me the sun the moon and the stars, then maybe I will be yours?

Then I?ll show you the sun every morning when you wake
And the moon and the stars up above will guide our way
My one and only my only one I?ll give the moon the stars and the sun

Here we are I brought you back to this old familiar place
In Magnolia where we lay almost six years before this day
You know always I will adore you and now I?ve got this question for you
Will you be my bride?

Cause I?ll show you the sun every morning when you wake
And the moon and the stars up above will guide our way
My one and only my only one I?ll give the moon the stars and the sun

First year first semester, we both met in choir
