Story Behind The Song
This song has lived in my mind and heart for some years now. I decided to write it for my children who never quite forgave me for leaving. We have been estranged for some years so they will probably never hear it. However I felt like it was time to bare my soul so to speak.

Lyrics
I NEVER DIDN'T LOVE YOU
VERSE 1
A E D
I've spent half of my life looking over fences. I've made my mistakes and
A
paid the consequences.
D A E
I know the grass ain't always greener on the other side. I pushed you
D E7 A
away because of my foolish pride.
CHORUS
D A E
I gave up on you and me several years ago. But you've stayed in my heart
A
and I want you to know.
D A E
Nothing has come close to what we once had. I overlooked the good and
A
focused on the bad.
D A E
I realized too late when I finally had a clue. One thing I know for sure is
D E7 A
that I never didn't love you.
VERSE 2
A E D
If I could I would turn back the hands of time. Back to better days when
A
everything was fine.
D A
But the water's washed away the bridge that spanned that big divide.
E D E7 A
Leaving no way to get back to the other side.
REPEAT CHORUS
D E7 A
No I never for one moment ----didn't love you.
