Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song when I had an offer to perform in my home town (Dallas). the new contract would mean that I could give up touring as much and I could stay home with my family more. That contract took 3 years but I finally signed it and now my home base is my home and not some hotel somewhere.
Song Description
This is about an entertainer who is tired of constant touring and is headed home.

Lyrics
THE ROAD TO YOU
By Dal Sanders & Lou Simmons
© 2005 Amazing Attractions
1. Another night another dawn
Another deadline come and gone
Another chance to sing my song
Has passed today
Another swing another miss
Just a temptation to resist
Another chance at a little bliss
Has gone away
CHORUS
These days I find myself trying
To find a road that leads to you
Whatever they're selling, I?m not buying
Unless it will prove my love is true
2. Another town around the bend
Another road trip without an end
Another night without family and friends
No place to play
Another leap into the great unknown
Leaves me weary to the bone
I'm tired of being so damned alone
Day after day
CHORUS
These days I find myself trying
To find a road that leads to you
Whatever they're selling, I'm not buying
It won't prove my love is true
BRIDGE
I can't deny this occupation
Gave me the chance to roam
Now it's time for a long vacation
With the ones I left behind at home
3. (Give me) Another day with those I love most
Another chance to hold them close
I won't go further than my own fence post
I'll never stray
I think I finally see the light
I need another chance to make things right
It's time for me to be home at night
It's time to stay
CHORUS
There'll be no more driving and no more flying
Now that I found the road to you
Whatever they're selling, I quit buying
It can't prove my love is true
4. (Give me) Another day with those I love most
Another chance to hold them close
I won't go further than my own fence post
It's time to stay
