Story Behind The Song

I wanted to write a song to warn teen-age girls about boys who try to exploit them and reassure them that they have the power to set limits in the relationship.

Song Description

Fast, danceable rock song. It reminds me of Fleetwood Mac But Edgier.

Verse 1
It was the night of the prom. I was a naive, young girl.
I lived in a fantasy world.
We had dinner at the nicest place in town,
The dance was a fantasy whirl.

We went for a drive and we parked by the lake,
the moon was shining bright enough.
But, after a couple of kisses the boy started getting a little rough.
He said what he wanted to do.

Verse 2
I learned a lot about boys that night.
It was tough to take.
By the time that I walked into that driveway,
I felt my body ache.

So, the next time I went for a ride.
I grabbed the keys from his hand.
When the boy wanted more than I could give,
Here's what I said to him.
