Story Behind The Song
I thought it would be cool to write a song about life using a "song" as a metaphor for life because they both have a beginning in an end.
Song Description
In this powerful female ballad a "song" is used as a metaphor for "life" because both have a beginning and an end. The story is of a young boy and girl who meet in grade school, later become lovers and eventually get married.
Although his wife dies, his story is more of a reminder to not waste a single day and as the narrator says "LOVE AS DEEPLY AS YOU CAN, CAUSE EVERY SONG HAS TO END.

Lyrics
EVERY SONG HAS TO END
They were best friends in grade two
Became sweethearts in high school
Got married, life was one sweet melody
Every year on her birthday he gave her pretty flowers
Just like he did last week
He bought her 12 red roses, and said I love you so
Then he placed them on her stone
CHORUS
Every song has to end
No matter how beautiful
It's just the way it goes
We laugh, we cry, we live, we die
Love as deeply as you can
Cause every song has to end
She was the one who made him see
Just how wonderful life could be
Moments he treasures but it doesn't stop the tears
And though he wished they'd had more time
There's one thing he can't deny
They sure sang their love song loud and clear
He just never guessed
He'd lose it all so fast
How much sand is left in your hourglass?
CHORUS
Every song has to end
No matter how beautiful
It's just the way it goes
We laugh, we cry, we live, we die
Love as deeply as you can
Cause every song has to end
BRIDGE
The clock is ticking, the song is playing
We can't waste a day
Cause we never know when the last note will play
CHORUS
Every song has to end
No matter how beautiful
It's just, just the way it goes
We laugh, we cry, we live, we die
Love as deeply as you can
Cause every song, every song, Every song, every song
has to end
