I used to drink too much and smoke too much pot and tobacco. I wrote this on the beach in a little fishing village in the Galapagos Islands after one too many nights of guitars and booze.

Lyrics
Now that we come to the end of the night,
I really wish somebody'd turn off that light.
"Twist up another one! Sing us a song!",
I'd love to oblige, Don't get me wrong.
But my fingers don't seem to do what they're told.
I'm too drunk to rock
And too stoned to roll.
Back at the the house, I wake up my wife.
I say "Honey, your all that I got in my life."
So give me some loving, I'm coming to bed.
She took one whiff of me, and here's what she said:
"I'd love to oblige, but may I be so bold,
Boy you're too drunk to rock,
And too stoned to roll."
Listen up children, listen up good:
You don't need no genius to do what you should.
If you want women and fortune and fame,
If you want to see grandkids carry your name,
You'll need a fifteen fott ladder to climb out that hole,
When you're too drunk to rock,
And too stoned to roll.
When you're too drunk to rock,
And too stoned to roll.
