Story Behind The Song
Sometimes an inspiration comes along and you have to let it flow through you. That's how it was with this song. I heard a phrase "there's no weakness in forgiveness" and, the next thing I knew, this song emerged. I was captivated by the theme and the melody and, after recording it, played it for my brother, Scott, who was working on the script for our third musical "Old Folks At Home." He'd been stuck on how to proceed with the second act, but, once he heard this song, he said "I can finish the play now." And he did.

Lyrics
Forgive
V1: There's no weakness in forgiveness
There's no shame in letting go of blame
If you offer some redemption
Chances are I'll do the same
Make your peace with those who've offended
A fence is stronger once it's mended
Set bitterness aside
It hurts too much to hold it inside
Cho: Forgive, forgive, forgive
V2: Can you remember when you started
Learning to forget
That no time is more wasted
Than time spent on regret
If we're measured by chances taken
We can take mistakes and make them
Lessons to be learned
Experiences earned
Cho:
Bridge: Everybody hurts somebody
That's the way it is
Don't spend one more day wishing
You'd offered to forgive
V3: I have harbored resentments
Carried them long and far
Holding on to pain and anger
Only makes the hurt hurt more
Let go of negativity
Live life positively
Do unto others as you
Would have them do for you
Cho: Forgive, forgive, for love
