Story Behind The Song
I was attending a conference and sitting with my travel guitar in a hotel room when I was inspired to write about what it is like to be alone, or "without couple," especially when you feel you've met the ying to your yang but the timing is off. How frustrating! The phrase "No man's land" appeared and the song just took off. I remember playing the raw version to one of the conference attendees who cheered me on to complete it and record it. Later, I sent him the recording and he wrote back, reminding me "I was there...remember...I was there!" When I recorded the song, my producer suggested doing a tag at the end so that part was written as an afterthought. That's what producers are for.....

Lyrics
No Man's Land
V1: Where are you now when I need you so much?
I don't know how to be without your soothing touch
And your calming caress that shields me from the madness outside
Where can I go that I wouldn't want you there?
I try not to show how much I really care
'Cause I'm too shy to say and too scared you'd run away - so I lied
Cho: I try to hide it but I can't
So I'm stuck out here in no man's land
Bridge: It's getting harder and harder to pretend
You're a part of my life as just a friend
V2; In my dream world, life is tidy and neat
But in the real world, I taste the bitter with the sweet
And the sweetness is you - oh, but you're the bitter too - it's a shame
Cho: I tried to leave you but I can't
So I'm stuck out here in no man's land
Tag: It's all about survival
And how to be alone
In spite of your denial
It starts to feel like home
You don't know how you got there
Or how long you will stay
But once you find a place there
It's hard to get away
