Story Behind The Song
This is another song written while enjoying a much-needed vacation in Jamaica with the handsome, talented, sensitive man I shared my life with for many years. We used to walk along the bumpy, winding road that led us to the white sands of the beach and would sit on that beach for hours, grateful for the chance to completely disengage from the hectic life back home - even if just for a little while.

Lyrics
The Other Side
Like a jewel that glistens as the sun upon the sea
So the island's calling you, it's calling me
And you can't forget her or the way she cried,
"Hold me, lead me, take me to the other side.
Take me to the other side."
You know you're not the first one and you may not be the last
You're still a far cry from a distant, shady past
And though I can't forget him or the way he lied
Hold me, lead me, take me to the other side
Take me to the other side
As we walk along, my steps grow lighter
I can feel the sun upon my face
There's the promise ahead of something brighter
So hold me tighter and tighter and tighter
It must be the life I'm living that leads me to conclude
Life's not worth living by the rules
And though I can't forget all the times I've tried
Take me to the other side
Take me to the other
