It's a pretty straightforward but sad song about thinking you've met the perfect person, having one great date with them, telling them you have fallen in love, and then they say you've gone way too fast, and that they can only be friends. Then you spend weeks being upset with yourself because you shared emotions too hastily. And now you've lost this potential love.

I met an incredible woman, someone I thought was my dream girl. Everything about her seemed right, and she seemed to like me. But I acted to hastily in sharing my feelings. She thought I was being selfish in not letting her explore HER feelings more, and she put a stop to the relationship. It was devastating, plain and simple.
