Story Behind The Song
My first jazz song!! I was attending a CD release & as soon as someone starting playing a jazz piece immediately the words & tunes came to me. I had to borrow some paper & a pencil to write the basics so I wouldn't forget when I got home. It was debuted as "My Christmas Prayer" to rave reviews in 2013. Upon feedback & songwriter coaching, lyric & title changes resulted in a much stronger track.

Lyrics
Let Christmas Be, written by Kevin Desire ©2013
Stanza one- My list includes, new clothes to wear, more than a mistletoe, how about let it snow?
Though your friends & family call, this plainly see, let Christmas be, all about me.
Stanza two- Sure would be nice, to wake in Pari (Paris), Caribbean waters flowing down, & don't forget Cape Town;
though your friends & family call, this plainly see, let Christmas be, all about me.
Stanza three 1st x- Don't wanna be selfishly seen, how 'bout that diamond ring? Card game or a movie night, that sure would be alright.
Caroling in my hometown, I just want you around, let Christmas be, all about me.
Stanza three 2nd x- Don't wanna be selfishly seen, how 'bout that diamond ring? Card game or a movie night, that sure would be alright.
Caroling in my hometown, I just want you around,
let Christmas be . . . let Christmas be . . . let Christmas be, all about me.
