Story Behind The Song
I had a dream where I dreamt the tune of the song. I quickly got up and whistled it into my phone so I wouldn't forget. I then came up with the lyrics over the next few days trying to associate them with what was happening to many people around the World. It is a song just as much about reflection as it is about hope for the future. A brighter future where the World has recovered from these tragic events and is a better, more friendly place.
Song Description
The song was written about the current COVID and lockdown situation around the world. The heart ache and sadness but looking forward to a better future. Many of the lyrics were based on my partner and I sitting in the back garden during the hot first lockdown we had. Watching the birds and seeing the garden blossom. The struggles people are having but the hope for better times to come.

Lyrics
To hold your hand,
And make our plans,
We wait for better times,
Live through our fears,
Hold back the tears,
We shudder at goodbyes,
And though the spring is nearly done,
We see the daisies grow the birds fly under the setting sun,
But we wait for now,
For better times to come
If getting old,
Is being told,
Your time is at an end,
Stuck all alone,
You're on your own,
Goodbye my dearest friend,
And as your time is nearly done,
You fade into the April winds under the setting sun,
But we wait for now,
For better times to come
What if I could hold you,
What would you say,
What if I had told you,
Just wait another day,
We run, we walk,
But still we talk,
With time that's on our hands,
But still we feel,
The time we steal,
Was never in our plans,
And though there are things to be done,
We sit back and raise a glass under the setting sun,
But we wait for now,
But we wait for now,
But we wait for now,
For better times to come
