Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song the night my dad, Harold, died. My brother Barry gave me this poem he had written for/about him several months prior to his passing. The death certificate never gave the real reason why he died. He missed Tillie, our mom.
Song Description
The story about how different people perceived my dad, how he really was, and hoping I can live up to and pass on some of the wonderful unknown traits that he possessed.

Lyrics
DAMN, I LOVE MY DAD
by RANDY BEIDELSCHIES
My father is my idol ~ he's worth a million bucks
His fortune isn't money ~ it didn't come from luck
His mind that makes decisions ~ about the way he lives his life
Cannot make better choices ~ than his friends, career and wife
You know he's always been my hero
Ever since I was a lad
I hope to grow up like him
Damn, I love my dad
His heart that cares so very much ~ sometimes tough to see...I'm told
But if you get to know him ~ you'll see it's lined with gold
His soul; it is an image ~ "Pieces of Eight"
And if you are a believer ~ you'll know that he is a saint
You know he's always been my hero
Ever since I was a lad
I hope to grow up like him
Damn, I love my dad
~ Whoa ~
I hope to grow up like him ~ Damn, I love my dad
I'm gonna miss you...Bub
I miss you dad
