Story Behind The Song
My son inspired me to write this song. He is 3-years-old now, but when he was two, my wife and I were teaching him his body parts and numbers. He would get them all right but... whenever we would tell him "That's your forehead", he would respond with "No, I only have one head". It was hilarious and cute, so I wrote a song to capture this pure childhood wonder moment. I wrote the song in a female vocal range to give the song a warm child-like feel and so that my Wife could be the one to perform it. The song is one-stop regardless of collaboration.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
A bicycle has two wheels, oh, that makes perfect sense
A unicorn has one horn, no need to second guess
My fingers count to ten, there's ten toes on my feet
But there remains one mystery, the most mysterious to me
[Chorus]
Oh, why, oh why, is it called a forehead?
When I can only count one instead?
There's one above my eyes, and that's all I see
So why can't they just call it onehead
Call it onehead like me?
[Verse 2]
An octopus has eight legs, and the name fits like a glove
Ladybugs don't wear dresses, but they're sure easy to love
Mountains scrape the sky, 'cause they're tall and very high
But forehead? I don't get it, no matter how hard I try
[Chorus]
Oh, why, oh why, is it called a forehead?
When I can only count one instead?
There's one above my eyes, and that's all I see
So why can't they just call it a onehead for me?
[Bridge]
Maybe it's a grown-up trick, to make us scratch our heads
Cause when I told them "that's my one head", I couldn't believe what they said
If I could change the words today
I'd fix them all my way
A forehead's now a one head, and that's how it will stay
[Final Chorus]
Oh, why, oh why, is it called a forehead?
When I can only count one instead?
It's funny, I suppose, and I'll let it be
But I'll still call it a onehead, it just feels right to me
