Story Behind The Song
This song started out as a guitar picking exercise, which, over time, grew into a chord progression, which in turn, became the backbone of the tune. I decided to record it before it vanished into the tangled maze of matter that lives in my head. So record it I did. Then it vanished into the afore-mentioned tangled maze and I promptly forgot about it.
Months later, I stumbled upon it while looking for something else. It sounded decent and felt like it had potential. With no idea where it would lead - I just started - and let one thing lead to another.
When composing, I often don't really understand what I'm doing musically. I just work it and simply by trial and error I get it to where I like it. For example, I've never been a drummer, a bass player or a keyboardist, but I seem to be able to recognize when I get those tracks to sound decent.
It's often only later I understand consciously what I did somewhat unconsciously at the time of creation.
For this tune I did try to create a mood that would hopefully transport listeners to the feelings of a Lazy Sunday.
Did it work for you?
