Story Behind The Song
I was challenged to write a love song without using the word 'love' and without mentioning any facial features or body parts.
This is the finished arrangement of the song that did well for me in the 2015 six pack. My first acoustic version was rated #1 song in the 'rough mix' can.

Lyrics
Redemption (words and music by Alan Gillis)
Verse 1
If I lived my life again would I make the same mistakes?
When things go wrong you find a new direction
But the road that led to you was surely written in the plan
The road that led to my redemption
Verse 2
If I could start again, I know I'd need to find you
You came into my world. You gave me reason
If I could start again. If I could find the master plan
I'd write some new directions
To the road that led to my redemption
Bridge
I've wasted so much time on many paths that took me nowhere
Doing what friends expected me to do
And then I opened up the door to find your haloed silhouette before me
Hypnotising, mesmerising, leading me to new horizons
Burning to my soul
Verse 3
If I could live my life again I know somehow I'd find you
The way to you was written in the plan
The stars would help me chart a course to find the right direction
To lead me to the road
The road that led to my redemption
