What a sweet ballad! This song is a heartfelt tribute to the writer's dad. Carefully written lyrics, lovely melody, this song tells an engaging story that instantly draws the listener in and touches the heartstrings. The singer has a gentle voice and manner that I absolutely love. The chorus is singable, memorable and gets better every time I heard it. Instrumentation is understated, but perfect for the song. Light background harmonies add a special touch. Nicely done!
First impressions are important and from the start I liked the tone of the acoustic guitar and the compelling vocal performance. The introduction of the drums and second guitar at the one minute mark approximately really works well. In fact the second guitar plays some really lovely stuff. I like the melody and chord structure. Very nicely recorded.
A very good message and a sad story about the ending of a loved ones life. I liked the sweet story you told in the lyrics. It's pretty, it needs a few tweaks to be a realy good song. Great message.
