Story Behind The Song
Finding yourself again after the end of a relationship that has been constricting.
Song Description
Glad You're Gone is a song about finding yourself again after a constricting relationship ends. The first solo writing project for teenage singer/songwriter Amy Elise was crafted with a guitar and a laptop in an hour and then brought to life in the studio with the magic of Benny D Williams production. Tender lyrics with some great hooks backed by grungy electric guitar riffs make for a solid indie rock sound.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
Sitting up on the bleachers
When I first saw you
My breath was taken away from me
Little did I know
I wouldn't let you go
Life was so carefree
But boy am I running now
Chorus:
Oh, where did the loving go
You took my heart, ran away with it
And buried it in the snow
Oh, now I'm so cold
Don't know what you've done to me
But I'm so glad you're gone
Verse 2:
Now that I look back
You pushed me off the track
I've gotta go back to the start
And boy you broke all of our vows
Chorus:
Oh, where did the loving go
You took my heart, ran away with it
And buried it in the snow
Oh, now I'm so cold
Don't know what you've done to me
But I'm so glad you're gone
Bridge:
You were like a snake
You constricted me
Held me to the ground and drained the life out of me
But now that you're gone
I can hear my own thoughts
I can finally be myself again
Chorus:(acapella)
Oh, where did the loving go
You took my heart, ran away with it
And buried it in the snow SINGLE STRUM
Chorus: (normal)
Oh, now I'm so cold
Don't know what you've done to me
But I'm so glad you're gone
REPEAT
Don't know what you've done to me
But I'm so glad you're gone
