Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song to celebrate a Graduation and moving on toward a bright future for our children and this seemed the perfect example of determination, hard work and the changes that must come in life.

Song Description

This is a Metaphor for how we watch our child grow into adults, like the caterpillar the end result is remarkable.

LIKE A CATERPILLAR,
WHO STARTED SMALL AND SHY,
THOUGH IT MIGHT SEEM IMPOSSIBLE,
WAS AIMING FOR THE SKY.

SHE SET HER SIGHTS, AND SOUGHT TO FIND,
HER PLACE, A PERFECT FIT,
THOUGH TIMES GOT TOUGH,
SHE'D NOT GIVE UP,
SHE SIMPLY STUCK TO IT.

THEN SHE BEGAN TO CHANGE INSIDE,
AND GREW IN EVERY WAY,
NOW IT'S QUITE REMARKABLE,
WHO SHES BECOME TODAY.

NOW COMPLETELY CONFIDENT,
NO LONGER SMALL AND SHY,
SHE SPREADS HER BRIGHTLY COLORED WINGS,
