Story Behind The Song

I was asked/invited to write a song for the Founding Fathers celebration at Davis Thayer Elementary School! I'm always up for a songwriting challenge! I was glad to do it! Believe it or not, I've sold a few copies of this song on Broadjam! :-)

Davis Thayer moved his family
To the town of Franklin so his brother and he
Could start up something new and something fun

It was the turn of a brand new century
When they started their straw hat factory
And watched as their profits soared up to the sun
