Story Behind The Song
This is actually a song that was inspired by my sadness over not having a family, wondering if all the time & effort I'd spent on my music career had eclipsed my chance at being a mom (thankfully, the answer was no, but I didn't know that at the time I wrote the song).
Song Description
The singer wonders if she's lost her chance at a meaningful loving relationship. She's been chasing her career with such a vengence, she's left a lot of people behind.

Lyrics
I drive around, aimlessly, listening
To the static on the radio, ooh
The "coulda been's" & "shouldn't be's" are hitting me
Harder than a wrecking ball, ooh
I hate to question this road that I'm on
But driving all alone tonight it just feels wrong
Been running too fast, pushing too hard
Guzzling gas, beating my car, and I'm still so far
From where I'm going
Been spending too much, ain't making enough
Never seems to fill me up
When I have no one
To feel my love
Never settled down, for anyone, I had to run
Anytime that they were getting close, ooh
Justified, in my mind, I had a plan
For something only Heaven knows, ooh
So busy getting ahead in this life
But I can't help but look back now at all I left behind
Repeat Chorus
Oh, the picture perfect postcard scenes
Like pages from a magazine
I have seen with my own eyes
All amazing opportunities
But beauty's somehow bittersweet
When nobody's by your side
Been drinking too much, ain't sleepin' it off
I rise to catch the caffeine buzz, but I'm still tired
And I feel lost
Been paying my dues, toeing the line
It's getting harder all the time
When I have no one
To feel my love
