Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song from my experience as a single girl in the city. The beginning symbolizes fake emotion in an unbalanced relationship, leading to it's end and the infinite possibilities of night life in the city. However, regardless of the blossoming of options, sometimes nothing is good enough. Pretty Girls shows how striving for perfection can sometimes reveal a jaded world of dull bars and empty luxuries.
Song Description
Pretty Girls has a catchy new age beat with bluesy undertones. Somewhere between Bjork and Norah Jones this song is most appropriate in a dark cafe with the strong, intoxicating smell of freshly brewed coffee and overstuffed couches inhabited by newspaper readers and studying college students.

Lyrics
Plastic lips and paper butterflies
Worn out jeans, skippin' CDs
Screamin' lullabies
Hair dye and dirty cars
Graveyards and shooting stars
Silly pictures, fake tattoos
Cozy moments, awkward news
What do I got to lose?
CHORUS:
Pretty girls never light their own cigarettes
Pretty girls like me
Pretty girls are never happy with what they get
So damn hard to please
Classic lines and clumsy alibis
Shuffling feet, incompletely
Ignoring compromise
Dark bars and other girls
Jukebox and unstrung pearls
Midnight movies, lengthy tabs
Karaoke, taxi cabs.
It's all in the past.
