Story Behind The Song

This is a story about my experience of 4 years spent in a mid west town where nothing happens but you still find plenty of things to do. It's about going to parties in houses so full of kids that the bouncing of the floor boards shakes your party dress (hence the name). It's about time spent wandering around a little town in the middle of the night. And how that was time well spent.

Song Description

This is a song about looking back on a span of time-- college or high school-- and thinking about all the fun, useless things you did, like going to parties and staying up all night and having crushes and thinking about how it was all worth it and not a waste of time. It's all summed up in the chorus-- "And it was good. And it was fine. And it was not a waste of time". It's about roaming around a small town and seeing what you can get into-- parties, friends, crushes, diners, staying out all night. It has a relaxed rock and roll feel. A laid back, upbeat indie song with a twinge of nostalgia. Female vocals with layers of harmonies on the chorus.
