Manifest Density

Story Behind The Song

I was thinking about my Iowa farming forefathers and all the hard work they put in to build this country. What Vietnam did when it took my cousin away... The dream kinda changed in the 60's, and it remains to be seen, when we'll be back?

Lyrics

Manifest Density Brad-O-Rama Productions

G/ a/c
Scraped together money and he headed west
G/ a/c
Had himself a dream and a farmhands chest
C
Build something for me out there

Followed out the railroad to the Platte River yard
Bought a Hundred Acres and he worked it hard
Build something for me out there

G C
I have a dream of a Western Man
G D
Build it up from nothing (dirt) with my own two hands

Well he got himself a wife and a mule to farm
Worked his hundred acres, bought a hundred more
Build a home for us out here

Had a dozen kids and they all got jobs
Some of them were buried some went and worked the bogs
Build a town around here

I have a dream of a Western Man
Build it up from nothing (dirt) with my own two hands

Well they sent their kids to war and they fought it hard
Earned themselves some glory and a gold leaf star
Save me something back home

Well they came on back to Chaos and the loss of jobs
Mama works the Wal-mart, Daddy just kicks the dog
Ain't nothing left around here

I have a dream of a Western Man
They traded it for nothing, shipped it to Japan

Whoa...Guitar Solo 1 round/1 chorus and back

Bridge: G - D - C (Twice around and into my rant)

Well the last thing I know well they took the farm (Hold G)
Sold it off to Dupont for: (STOP)

Increased sharelholder value, which was represented as a line item under the Earnings Before Intangible Assets column within the corporations slick, full-color annual report.

Well I have a dream of a Western Man
Shipped it down the road in a red gas can.....

Quick Guitar Solo

Well I bought me a ticket just the other day
Ship me off to space to save the human race
Go build something for yourself out there

Well I have a dream of a Western Man
Shipped it down the road in a red gas can.....

Solo through Chorus and out on 4th G
