Story Behind The Song
Inspired by the Heaven Hill distillery fire in 1996, "Whisky in the Faucet" creates a fantasy world based on reports that bourbon infiltrated Nelson County's water supply. Of course, whisky never really flowed from the faucet, but this song is a fun look at what life might be like were that true.
Song Description
A fun, bluegrass song that imagines waking up one morning to find whiskey flowing from the sink -- what fun a world like that would be.

Lyrics
Woke up the morning, like i do in every song
I went to brush my teeth and saw that there was something wrong
That ain't water in the drain and let me tell y'all
That something that i saw there was pure grain alcohol
chorus:
There's whisky in the faucet, oh man I thought i'd lost it
that amber water flowin' drop by drop
so grab a mason jar, 'cause it's time to stock the bar!
Oh lord, oh please, don't every let it stop.
I ran into the kitchen as fast as i could go
i checked the sink in there to see if it had the whisky flow
much to my surprise, it was flowin' like a fountain
This must be what they mean by the Big Rock Candy Mountain!
(solo)
I called my friends to spread the news, before 10 minutes passed
Folks i didn't even know were holding up a glass
Wild Turkey, Jameson's, Jack and Jim and Bushmill's
i didn't car how much they drank, my landlord pays the bills
(solo)
Now me and all my friends, we just party until dark
'cause there ain't a chance in hell that we'll run out of Maker's Mark
The only problem i foresee that makes things kind of tricky ...
you can't take a bath to hide the smell when the pipes are flowin' whisky!
(chorus out)
