Story Behind The Song
I always loved "Joseph's Song" by Michael Card and wanted to offer Mary's side. Being a mother myself I imagined what Mary may have thought.
Song Description
The hour is approaching, labor may be intense. Mary is on board. Through her complete joy she knows this is all in God's hands and prays for her infant's protection, controversial it is. She is joyful, fearful, prayerful anticipating Jesus' birth. She knows this is arranged for all people and heaven and earth. Mary knows the setting of Jesus' birth is the epitome of humbleness, the lack of royal welcome, servants at his feet and gold woven tapestry for him is rendered foolish by this miracle of Heaven's promise. The Spanish translation of the first verse, is melodically and poetically lovely as the romance languages are, and is a reminder of "all God's people". In conclusion Mary looks to holding and tenderly kissing her baby, our King.

Lyrics
Mary's Song w/m Penny Gottsche bpm100 3:34
V1- This is the night, this is the time for all God's people
to rejoice and time to hear angels sing
'glory to God in the highest'
this is the night we welcome our king
V2- The beacon of God's gracious love lights the way.
and joy in my heart is overflowing
Guide and protect this baby Lord I Pray
This is the night we welcome our king.
Chorus- He won't arrive by chariot with servants at his feet
or be wrapped in woven tapestry with threads of gold.
Yet a greater miracle this world may never see
than Heaven's promise unfold
V3- Este es la noche, este es el tiempo, para todos de Dios
Rigocijarse, el tiempo a oír los angeles cantan
'Gloria a Dios mas alto'
Este es la noche a acoger nuestro rey
Chorus- He won't arrive by chariot with servants at His feet
or be wrapped in woven tapestry with threads of gold.
Yet a greater miracle this world may never see,
than Heaven's promise unfold
V4- This is the night the son of God comes to earth.
We'll finally hold and gently kiss Him tenderly.
This is the night of our Savior's birth.
This is the night we welcome,
Tag- Este es la noche, este es el tiempo
This is the night we welcome
our King.
