Story Behind The Song
I wrote "Some Things Never Change" in the 90's, worked on it with Nashville Songwriters International some, and Tim McGraw released his song of the same title after about the 3rd edit suggestion by NSIA. I put it aside and this is a later rewrite. My husband and I were in our 20 something year of marriage at that time, 43 now, and these are my thoughts about us.
Song Description
Seasons come around each year, bringing the same changes. Earth orbits the sun, always in state of change, yet the same. Every day is different in love and marriage yet love and marriage can remain the same.

Lyrics
You're Still Mine
Hillsides are beautiful in scarlet and gold, a
canvas painted right before you eyes
Frost is on the pumpkin, Old Jack is back in town
some things never change you're still mine
Tell me...again how you love me so
Whisper words I love to hear . Darlin this I know..
You're still mine, our love will always be
solid rock and sweet as pie
You and I remain a picture time alone can frame
Some things never change, you're still mine
Together we ride our circle 'round the sun
as the stars go dancing by
every passing moment always brings me back to you
some things never change you're still mine
Tell me...again how you love me so
Whisper words I love to hear. Darlin this I know...
You're still mine, our love will always be
solid rock and sweet as pie
You and I remain a picture time alone can frame
Some things never change, you're still mine
