Story Behind The Song
My dog Napoleon died in January and this was the hardest thing in my whole life. This song was born from my struggle (ongoing) with grief. It brings me closure by letting me thank Napoleon for being my friend and letting me tell him I love you one last time - forever.
Song Description
Grief is the conflict between letting go and holding on to someone you love when you know that letting go is the only way forward in life ...

Lyrics
When I see you now
© 2012 Bruce Mills (SOCAN BMI)
At the end of your days
And the last words are said
And the last tears are shed
Lay your head down
And the dying comes like the seasons
Cold as the winter, soft as the spring
Let my arms keep you warm
And forever comfort bring
And the stars in the night
Fall down for you
And the dying comes like the seasons
Cold as the winter, soft like the spring
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Chorus
I need to thank you
For being my friend
For sharing my lifetime
And teaching me how to love again
But all of our living
Brings us to this moment
To say good-bye
To say good-bye
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
When I see you now
All the times before
Come together in
A single touch
So I hold you close
And I won't ask why
Laws of nature rule
The god of love
All his windmills turn
In his wings they turn
And his days grow old
Before their time
And the dying comes like the seasons
Cold as the winter, soft as the spring
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Chorus
I need to thank you
For being my friend
For sharing my lifetime
And teaching me how to love again
But all of our living
Brings us to this moment
To say good-bye
To say good-bye
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
What remains will stay
At the end of our days
Nothing left to say
I love you
