Story Behind The Song
As I said in the January 23rd news release, this song epitomizes my definition of what "In Your Face" Rock & Roll is all about.
To me, it's all about "Intensity" and "Attitude"! The song has to build, and build, and build! And then when you think it just can't build anymore, it does!
On some songs there will be peaks and valleys. But each peak must higher than the last. You must take the audience down a musical "Roller Coaster" of emotions, and strand them at the top of the rails for the Finale!
And of course it takes "Powerful, Risk-Taking Musicianship" to pull it off!
By that I mean if you're feeling a new riff or groove coming on during the song that you haven't done before that might enhance your part and the song, you "Go For It"! You take the chance! I believe most good things happen with risk taking at some level.
And you must have a mastery of Musical Dynamics. No matter if you are tapping, hitting, pounding or attacking your instrument, you must know how and when to use these dynamics.
So if the song starts off like a cat's meow, it must end like a Lion's roar! If it starts off like a race car engine at the start of a race, it should end like a jet plane taking off!
Just a few thoughts of mine on what I mean by "In Your Face"!
Thanks for coming and enjoy the music.
