Story Behind The Song
The story is written about the grandparents of two of the writers. Their grandparents were married for 54 years. They met, loved each other, lived an amazing life together. Then at 81 years old the grandma dies of cancer. The grand kids literally witnessed the grandpa take their dying grandmother in his arms just days before she died, when she wasn't even able to speak back to him and he called her name and said to her "I love you. You are the best thing that ever happened to me."
The song is written for young love with the hope and promise of the best kind of love, one that lasts a lifetime.
