Story Behind The Song
I was in grad school back in 1994 when my brother was having some serious personal problems and I wrote the song as a way of showing him how I feel. I was never really happy with the melody until a couple of years ago when I reworked it and recorded a simple version for his birthday. I decided to rerecord it with a bass guitar and flute for the album, llivin' in a ball factory.

Lyrics
I dreamt last night you were ten years old, a happy little boy.
It was before the pain had a chance to find you.
You were smiling at me and sayin everything was gonna be allright.
Yes everything was gonna be allright.
So when I heard your voice on the phone this morning I was so surprised.
But there was so much fear coming over the wire, I tried not to cry.
I said "won't you please let me put you up for the night, and everything was gonna be allright.
'Cause, I only have one brother,
and I need you more than you could ever know.
I only have one brother,
and I am never gonna let you go.
So come to me, rest your head, rest your weary eyes.
You can stop running from the demons you been carrying around deep inside.
You know if could I would beat your demons down, I would tear them all down to the ground.
Oh 'cause, I only have one brother,
and I need you more than you could ever know.
I only have one brother,
and I am never gonna let you go.
I can only do what you ask me to,
Say the word I'll run fast as I can to you.
I can only help if you want me to,
please say you do.
I only have one brother,
and I need you more than you could ever know.
I only have one brother,
and I am never gonna let you go,
never gonna let you go,
never gonna let, let you go.
