Story Behind The Song
I saw a gallon of bondo plastic filler at the auto parts store. Bondo is what we used to repair rust with. Anyway, the bondo was called Diamond City. Also in my town we had an auto factory called Diamond Star. I had this driving hook in my head at the time so I decided to write a song about a car club and called it Diamond City Street Machines

Guy is in a car club and realizes how crummy the city is with all its dirt and poverty. But the carclub was like heros of their neighborhood. Everyone knew them, and everyone wanted to be a part of that scene

Lyrics
The hazy daize of morning/ Barely finds your window/ you hear me honk my horn as/ you slide into your street clothes/ we slip on down to main street past rusty bars and broken windows/ where all the cleanest cars meet/ where the dirtiest wind blows// Diamond City Street Machines/ everybody watches our show/ gotta make it to that scene/ cause I'm feelin high, and riding low
