Story Behind The Song
Just a song advocating for people to not fight, and to avoid causing harm in conflict to others at all costs.
Song Description
Song was an after-thought cover choice for the "secret track" on a full-length release of original songs that was recorded in October 2007.
The overall vibe of the entire song is a faster-paced, modernized, updated version of the classic and iconic song that keeps the main ideas throughout, with slight changes to the arrangement, and an added breakdown where the pre-solo section/bridge is, that brings a wide open, slowed down, heavier songscape with space for the guitars to really articulate the iconic riff that builds into the solo section.
The solo section was intentionally crafted to follow the original solo, written and performed by Eddie Van Halen (shRed In Peace), with added technical flare and modernized techniques to stay true to the masterful form of the original, yet still push the envelope and raise the stakes compared to the MJ version. This decision was made for consistency throughout the song, as playing a note-for-note copy of the original solo did not feel like it was keeping in line with the updated and aggressive feels of the powerful verses and choruses already written.
Every instrument you hear was recorded in one take, with the only exception being the solo section, which was recorded 3 times to ensure proper note placement and as-close-to-perfect execution was captured, to give the attention and respect to the late, great, Eddie Van Halen's virtuosic original, which was unanimously felt as being commanded by the song, at the time of recording by all parties involved.
