Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song soon after I found out my father had cancer. Funny how something so happy came out of such a sad chapter in my life. It reached about 28 on the Canadian Country Music charts in 1999

Lyrics
Verse1
We have a small town southern romance
Our love won't ever go out of style
We've been together for awhile now
I'd like to take it the extra mile
So take this ring I'm on my knees
All we're missing is the moon
But who needs the moon
When I've got you
Chorus
Who needs the moon when I've got you
Who needs the stars when you're my wish come true
You're the air I breathe the reason my heart beats
It's like I'm walking on the moon
But who needs the moon, when I've got you
I will never, not for a minute
Ever leave you in spirit or mind
Just like th daylight follows night time
I'll be the shadow that's by your side
There may be storm clouds every then and now
We may not always have the light of the moon
But who needs the moon
When I've got you
Chorus
You're the air I breathe the reason my heart beats
It's like I'm walking on the moon
But who needs the moon when I've got you
