Black Hats on a Train

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this for a current "Spaghetti Western" opportunity. I grew up on cowboy/westerns and love the music as well. This one is more "Train" oriented rather than just western themed. All the guitars are real guitars I played live against the tracks. I hope you like it.

Song Description

This is underscore or thematic music for TV and/or Movie placement. It's very much western themed. I call it "Black Hats on a Train" because it's got that "train rhythm" going on underneath and would be a great train scene transition and is set in a "bad guy," minor key. Acoustic guitars dominate the soundtrack in a rhythmic way with spaghetti western tremolo guitar playing chords arpeggios to help set the scene. Cellos fill out and further accent the train feel adding off-beat accents. It has a cold end with a mission bell to which edits can be easily made.
