This tune was written for a scene in a biopic about Mohamed Ali. Set in the early 60's, it is a song of deep regret. Ali listens at the low point in his career when he has been stripped of his boxing titles, and faces jail for draft dodging as Cascious Clay.

Lyrics
As a River
Music and Lyrics by Woodland TenBroek
Some folks say, that my race is run,
That my grass has lost its green
I'm as full as a river, I'm as empty as a dream
I've been wonderin', for a week or so
If I've played that final scene
'Cause I'm as full as a river, I'm as empty as a dream
It's too late for your promises
You can promise 'till you're old
And what good are those promises
When you've lost your heart and soul
Me I'll stay, for a little while
'Till the moon has lost its beam
'Cause I'm as full as a river, I'm as empty as a dream
It's too late for your promises
We can promise 'till we're old
And what good are those promises
When you've lost your heart and soul
Me I'll stay, for a little while
'Till the moon has lost its beam
'Cause I'm as full as a river, I'm as empty as a dream
Oh, I'm as full as a river, I'm as empty as a dream
