Story Behind The Song
Written at the end of a bad day. Was inspired while staring at my pond listening to "Prairie Home Companion." That particular show was featuring artists under the age of twenty. I heard so much talent that I decided to stop pouting and start writing. Grabbed my guitar, and this (IMHO) lovely melody came to me. I wrote this song quickly- once my mood changed it just kinda poured out of me.

Lyrics
Still I have
One breath then another
Still I have the promise of today
Still I have endless hours to wonder
Still I have only circumstance to blame
Swirling round and round
Like so much dirty water
Headed to an ocean filled with tears
Still I have blessings from above me
Still I have all my fingers and my toes
Still I have family to love me
Still I have your smell on my clothes
Left to dream about how you used to touch me
Soft and silent in the middle of the night
Still I have memories like a canvass
Moving pictures of what used to be
Still I have good fortune on my doorstep
I hear the knock of opportunity
My human condition is battered but unbroken
Stitch me up and put me back in the game
That's what I have
